Nicaragua is a country of fire and water. Two great lakes, a spine of volcanoes that still smoke, and a Pacific coast that turns gold every evening. I came here to photograph the light, and I stayed for the people who live inside it.

This is a working journal, not a guidebook. Six stories, made on foot, in markets and on boats, in the blue hour over Granada and in the dark crater glow of Masaya. Each one is a place I walked slowly, camera in hand, waiting for the moment when the ordinary turns quietly extraordinary.
